It is a reggae fusion song.[2] "Cheerleader" was originally released in 2012 through Oufah Records. "Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix)" was released through Columbia Records on 19 May 2014. The remix peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100, and topped the charts in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, the Netherlands, the Republic of Ireland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
